Invited as an honored guest by SGM Norsom, on August 18th, Chairman Zhang Zhigang attended “SGM Norsom’s 10th Anniversary Celebration & Phase III Commissioning Ceremony”.

Leaders of Liaoning Province, Shenyang City, Shanghai City, SAIC and GM motors attended this ceremony as well. As one of the special guests from 5 suppliers, Chairman Zhang Zhigang attended this ceremony and toured the assembly shop of SGM Norsom. During this visit, Chairman Zhang Zhigang had a friendly communication with the leader of SGM Norsom improving the friendship and enhancing the further cooperation.

Totally invested 7 billion yuan and occupied with 2.22 square-kilometer, SGM Norsom’s Phase III Plant has press, body, paint, powertrain and general assembly shops. It also has auxiliary powertrain facilities, a distribution center and a high-speed test track. It could produce 3 platforms 5 types in the same lines with annually capacity of 300 thousand vehicles and 450 thousand motors.

Advanced global processes and international environment protection facilities have been adopted throughout the new plant, including two worldwide leading automated double-arm high-speed press lines made by JIER, the first highly automated flexible body manufacturing system, an environmentally friendly paint shop featuring the first film phosphating and high swimming penetration electrophoresis line in China, the first domestic dress rubber appearance detection technology, the latest RFID intelligent technology in general assembly shop, and etc. These advanced facilities and technologies greatly enhances the production efficiency and total process level of SGM Norsom and makes SMG Norsom being a world-class and domestic leading advanced green environment protection plant.

The two automated double-arm high-speed press lines provided by JIER were delivered to SMG Norsom in May and June of 2013 separately. The two press lines have made contributions to the Phase III plant and been awarded high appraisal from customers with the comment of “there is no difference between these two lines and the equipment made in German”.
